Dan Christ
Dan visited LVCM on Wed., July 21 as part of the Men's BBQ at noon.
In January of 2010 Dan celebrated his 32nd anniversary as a full time wildlife artist. His humble beginning was painting the wildlife he loved and experienced in the backyard of his Berks County home on a dairy farm. Dan continues to paint from his experiences, whether they are the wilds of Alaska or the heights of the Rockies, or the Serengeti of East Africa. His education in forestry at PSU provided him the technical knowledge of ecosystems and wildlife habitat and behavior. In Dan’s search for the meaning of life he discovered the God who created him and saved him by sacrificing his only Son Jesus to pay for the sins of the world. He put his faith in Jesus to save him from his sins, and committed his life to the Lord. The result has been a flowing of inspirations into art since 1978.
Artist’s statement
My art is composed of more than just wildlife. It is a portrait of habitat gained from my experiences afield. Quite often viewers will comment, “I’ve been there and have experienced this very setting.” It is my love of the outdoors as well as my natural ability to paint that enables me to portray my experiences on canvas that invite people to walk right into the scene.
