VBS 2009

"Starring ME!"

Approximately 45 children participated in a Bible school program called "Starring Me! The Way God Made Me to Be." this past campmeeting. Along the way they learned about God's creation of man in His image, God's special plans for each of them, the gifts God provided each of them with, and how He would like them to use them and the precious gift of salvation found only in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Within the program, the children were given the opportunity to serve in an area of their choice. Some children chose to serve through drama, providing a puppet ministry. Some expressed their praise of God through sign language set to worship music. Still others lifted their voices to God in song. Some children felt more comfortable with a less "visible" role and acted as our props and backstage crew. Even our youngest members got a chance to shine as "Mini Stars". As they worked together, the children experienced using their talents as a way to praise and serve God, and many expressed a desire to continue to find ways to use their abilities for Him outside of campmeeting.

At the end of the week, everyone was excited to share what they had been working on. The children invited campers, friends, and family to join them in the tabernacle where they all shared the fruits of their labors for the preceeding week with an end-of-week show. The audience seemed to really enjoy the children's efforts, and the children certainly enjoyed producing and performing the "Really Big Show"!

A big thank you goes out to all the adults and teens who worked so hard to make the Bible school run smoothly! Without our willing volunteers, VBS would not be possible.
