Dr. Barbara Yorks
Dr. Yorks was kind enough to speak at the Tuesday evening Missions program when Rev. LeQuire was unable to attend. She also led the Bible Studyon Thursday and Friday mornings.
"I have been serving churches in the Central PA and Susquehanna Conferences of the UMC since 1981. I was ordained as a deacon that year and an elder in 1983.
My husband was the pastor at Trinity in E-ville from 2000-2011. I have served churches in the State College, New Cumberland, Harrisburg and York Districts.
I am currently serving the New Hope Charge made up of Immanuel Church in Loyalton and Wesley Church in Wiconisco. I received my BA in English from Bucknell in 1976. (I started at BU the year of Agnes!). I graduated from Methesco in Delaware, Ohio, with an MDIV in 1980.
I received a DMIN from Asbury Seminary in May of 2011. My husband, Joe, and I have two children. Our son, Josh, is serving his first appointment in Waymart, PA. He is married to Susie. JoAnna graduated from Gordon College in MASS. She hopes to return to PA this summer. I recently returned from a trip to the Holy Land. I love to travel, spend time with friends and family, read, sing. I lead retreats on Spiritual Gifts and Sabbath. I do presentations of various women of the Bible and history. I frequently share Susanna Wesley's story. I teach Lay Speaker's School. I am leading two Women's Bible Studies focusing on Women in the Bible."
