Youth Night
Youth & Youth at heart celebrated the Awesome God Youth Talent Night on Saturday, July 16. It was great! The evening began with free refreshments from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. At 7:00 PM a service of praise to our Awesome God consisted of Praise and Worship provided by Giving Light & Hillside Praise Bands and talented youth. The service concluded with a short message by Eric Starner. A campfire hosted by LVCM Youth followed the service.
The Hillside Youth Praise band is comprised of youth musicians with one common goal -- leading others into the Throne Room of God through praise and worship. We long to see God moved by His Spirit, to see hearts retored, minds renewed and chains broken.
Eric Starner is a 20 year old evangelist currently pursuing a ministry degree. He was saved at age 15 on Easter Sunday of 2006 while walking into a church building on a Sunday for the very first time. It was at this service that the Holy Ghost took hold of Eric and shook him awake to the reality of Jesus. Shortly thereafter Eric received a calling from the Lord to drop all future aspirations and pursue ministry. The Lord has called Him to three things: Preach the Gospel to the lost, raise up a generation of young people on fire for God, and see true biblical holiness restored to the Church of Christ in America. This can all simply be summed up in one word: Revival! Our God is a God of revival and Eric earnestly prays for and preaches revival fire wherever he goes. He is about the kingdom of God and he is about seeing the power of the Spirit in operation. For him, there is no time to be lukewarm; he burns for Jesus alone, and he calls all others to do the same.
